Augusta is a village in Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 899. The village is mostly within Ross Township, though a small portion extends south into Charleston Township.
Augusta is situated on Michigan State Highway 96, about five miles northeast of Galesburg, and about seven miles west of downtown Battle Creek. Kalamazoo is an additional ten miles west of Galesburg. The Fort Custer Recreation Area is immediately south of the village on the other side of the Kalamazoo River.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.5 km2 (0.9 mi2). 2.4 km2 (0.9 mi2) of it is land and 1.05% is water.
